The day of the deaths event
The event was kaleidoscope full of colors, smells, flavors, textures and music.
The event started with the presentation of the offering where you can see the zempasuchil flowers, the traditional sugar crafts, the artistic paper with the Death figures laughing of everyone of us, traditional food, and why not a tequila for the tired trip from the dead world, mixed with the profound smell of incienso and candles.
The assistance of the event to the crafts workshops were 50 kids, where the children learned how to make sugar figures with brilliant colors and how to make paper flowers, the children also learned to make our ancient traditional crafts and how to make new friends and have fun with them celebrating our traditions in a familiar and friendly environment.
The event happened in a familiar environment where the children’s moms hanged out and had fun with the creations of the kids.
The artistic contribution in the event were with the Colorado Sister’s with a classical legend of Mexico….The Crying Woman.
The performance gave back the scary and terrorific taste to the celebration that we have lost generation to generation, and after many minutes between screams, tears, laughs and claps the performance finished with great success.
We also counted with the dance performance of Danza Mexica Cetiliztli and remembered us our mexica heritage with many mexica’s dances honoring to the 4 winds celebrating and enjoying the rhythm, compass, melody and costumes of the group with big success.
Finally…. the expected food, we shared more than 400 tamales, red, green and chili with sodas, delicious coffee, donuts and Mexican traditional bread, for the 200 guests that we had in the event.
The community enjoyed with the amazing season of the Mexican food, in a grateful moment with joy and happiness we say good bye to the one of the most significative and classical celebrations of our Mexico.
